Some freeplays count towards the duty. After HMRC lost the Jumpman case in September 2026, the Budget on 28 October announced new “restricted plays” rules from 1 April 2027; see our news story.
What it means for players
Your winnings aren’t taxed. Higher duty can make operators more careful with offers, which is one more reason to compare offers on spin value and terms.
Slot figures are developers' published defaults, each confirmed against two sources; your casino may run a lower RTP. Offer terms dated 9 October 2026. How we check. 18+. Free help: 0808 8020 133 or safer gambling.
